By carefully concentrating on their foe, they can freeze the thoughts of their victim, in effect paralyzing them, leaving them helpless to attack. One can only be kept in check for a short time, if at all, as this is a very demanding task. Once the hold on the target's mind is lost, their thought auras are left scrambled for a short time, making it impossible to attempt this form of attack again, until the target's thought process stabilizes.
