Gnome apparatuses are produced by the tinkering skill. They are operated by placing them on the ground and pushing the button (the apparatus will not work from a player's inventory). Apparatuses may weigh as much as five kilograms, be nearly weightless, or anything in between. The weight seems to be based on the type of materials used (Note: NOT the weight of the original objects). The description of the apparatus is derived from the materials used to make it, and looking at the apparatus will also indicate when it was made and by whom. Apparatuses can be labeled.

Some apparatuses can be sold to general stores. What determines the value of an apparatus is yet undetermined.

Some apparatus types are rarer than others. The exact rarity distribution hasn't been determined. In general, you will get at least give of each of the apparatuses listed here under the "COMMON:" section for every one under the "VERY RARE:" section (In other words, it's probably a less than one percent chance of getting a rare apparatus at all, let alone one of a specific kind).

Here's a list of Gnome Apparatus' you can make by using the tinkering skill:

COMMON:
Dimension door
Bless
Coal to Gemstone
Ore to 1 level up refined ore
Booze
Clapping (It claps at you that's it)
Monkey that gives you tea or hits your toe with a hammer (the same apparatus can produce either result)
Angelic Gate
Corpse eater
Torch maker
Fire building
Dragonify
Shout
Floating Letters
Mirror Image
Good Berries
Random teleport (overworld on same continent, the apparatus comes with you)
Cookie (but a sparrow eats it. Effectively does nothing as far has been determined)
Organ music (just sounds, that's it)
Hide
Remove scar
Scan adjacent rooms (uses an ascii map to indicate if rooms through cardinal and intercardinal (n, ne, e, se, s, sw, w, nw) exits contain monsters, objects or players)
Water pump (floods the room with water, which may flow out to adjacent rooms)
Stun (Stuns the button presser with a hammer)
Summon Animals
Darkness
Light
Detect Alignment

VERY RARE:
Harm All (always breaks on first use)
Electrocution (stun, damage, possibly instakill?)
Force ress (resses a dead player. Does not require the player to accept! Does nothing if there are no dead players)

If you know more just add them here.
