Description: | Situated between the Misty Mountains and the River Anduin lay the forest Lothlorien, "land of blossoms dreaming".
Lothlorien was founded late in the second age, when the men of Numenor captured Sauron, and peace ruled for a time. Here, the tallest and fairest trees on Middle-Earth grew, the Mallorn. The Galadhrim, known as the 'tree people', were the inhabitants of this land. They were highly skilled in the arts of woodcraft and rope making, and lived on wooden platforms, called flets, built amongst the branches of the Mallorn. With their gray elven cloaks, they walked almost invisibly through their land. |
