SOLLERETS
========= What gauntlets are to the hands, sollerets are to the feet. The same technology of interlocking bands of material to allow flexibility and protection are used to keep the foot safe but still allow movement. Traditionally, sollerets offer poor traction due to the stiff armoured soles. As such, they were more favored by knights on horseback, where mobility was much less of an issue. Sollerets were often metal and pointed, making them dangerous to kick with -- assuming you would still be standing afterwards.
