The gauntlet is a legendary maze located somewhere in the mountains north of Arelium. According to ancient legends the elder gods used to compete against each other there when the world was still new. In time they grew tired of running the maze themselves and decided that they would open the maze for brave mortals and instead of competing the gods would just watch and perhaps place a bet or two. The gods have, over time, become very fond of this 'game' and they usually give a very special, and valuable, prize to the winning mortal.
