| A martial artist is taught to use his own power to its
fullest advantage. One maneuver that is taught is the
art known as the kiai-cry. By drawing deep within himself,
he is able to channel all of his power and concentrate it
into one swift strike. This is used to begin a fight, and
many times is able to end the fight within itself. The
power of the attack is able to momentarily knock his
opponent off balance, giving the edge to the attacker.
