Darkness falls across the land,
the midnight hour is close at hand.
Creatures crawl in search of blood
to terrorize your neighborhood...
As those of you who are more astrologically aware have figured out, there is a
particular celestial event on the way -- the full phase of the crimson moon.
Other-worldly creatures have already sprung up around the world, bringing with
them blood, insanity, and death. More will surely follow.
Exactly what, or who, this lunar event will bring is not certain -- nothing
like this has happened in the 750+ year history of the realms. What is known
is these creatures that have shown up so far have been willing to strike even
in "safe" locations, so the effects are far-reaching indeed...and these are
just the first of them. It might take the might of several strong,
well-organized groups to stop whatever horror waits behind the Crimson Moon.
And though you fight to stay alive,
your body starts to shiver,
for no mere mortal can resist
the evil of The Thriller.

The coming of the Crimson Moon was met with full force by the players of BatMUD.
The random insanity-driven monsters that plague the lands were hunted down and exterminated, the magical-altering crystal spires were nullified and shattered, and the minions of the demon Kurenakuma were slaughtered almost as soon as they entered our realm.
The visitor Solas Rex, will remain in the Arelium candy shop for a while longer. He has rewards for any who participated in the event, so stop by and see him while you have the chance.
