However the simple structure, these bracers are of very high quality. The bracers are made from shiny metal and regardless of the fact that they look old, they shine like they had just been carefully polished. A set of ornamental punctures decorates both edges of the bracers. There is also an etching of small octagon formed from two overlapping squares on both bracers.
It contains a tale;
The octagon formed from two overlapping squares is the insignia of the Ib family. These bracers were made for the king Pen'en-en'eb the first of the Ib dynasty. His son, Pen'en-en'eb the second, ruled during the great upheaval and the bracers were never found after he died. The Pen'en-en'eb family kings of Ib dynasty were known for their great endurance and long lives. It is unknown whether these bracers are of purely symbolic value or not.
