In BatMUD characters have passive and active skills. As the name implyes, to use active skills, you need to start using them.

How the skills works on BatMUD

Some skills use endurance points when they are done. Many of the skills are automatically in use ie. when you need the skill your skill chance is quered automatically.

Skills are used using the 'use' command. The format is:

use name of skill [at target]

or

use 'name of skill' [target]

You can use which ever format you prefer. Some examples:

use strike at rat
use 'strike' rat
use fire building
use consider at cow

You can see what skills you know by typing:

show skills

You can see all skills in game by typing:

show skills all

You can use 'me' as a valid target. For example,

use vampiric blow at me

To interrupt a skill you are using type:

cast stop

There is also shortcut for cast stop in builtin commands. Type help builtin. To set builtin commands on type:

set builtin on

To see what you are using type:

cast info

To get help on a certain spell you use the following format:

help skill <name of skill>

For example:

help skill strike
help skill attack
