When one is outdoors, many times the only thing he
can call home, is his campfire. There are few things more relaxing
and satisfying the sitting in front of a roaring fire, telling tales.
Of course, one needs to be able to start the fire in the first place,
and keep it burning bright. Key ingredients include selection of wood,
quality of kindling, and the fuel once the fire is started. There are
many tricks of the trade that help fires burn faster and better as well.
Fires, besides facilitating rest, are also useful to cook items. A
cooked animal caught in the wilderness is much tastier and nourishing
then one eaten raw. As the fire starts to die out it is possible to
'refuel' it.
