The idea behind the flame shield is the same as the method used by some elves to prevent the spread of a fire. A smaller, controlled fire that clears the path of the larger fire can stop it in its tracks. This spell surrounds the target with a harmless sheet of flame that can drastically reduce or possibly even eliminate fire and heat damage.
It requires a reagent, a small glass cone.
